Looks like Garmin has updated their line with this press announcement today of the Forerunner 410 and 210. I’m not a huge fan of GPS watches, mainly because of battery life in ultras, but these do look good and the simplicity of the 210 is pretty interesting to me

  1. you know, I used the 305 for LT100 last year. Turned off GPS and it was fine. I know it’s a big watch just for a stop watch. But it fit the bill, and I was used to how it felt and where the buttons were…so it seemed liked a good solution.Though I wanna get the 310TX for the battery life….now I just need to figure out how to finish 100mi races in under 20 hours!!

  2. I just can’t justify wearing a GPS watch and turning off GPS :) I wear a Suunto T6c with a footpod if I really want to track pace or distance in training. Mainly I use it on the road becuase I tend to know the mileage of the trails that I run. There is your motivation, buy the 310 then you have to hit 20… that’s how it works right?
