I don’t think Chia is magic, but adding some extra Omega 3′s to the diet can’t hurt. I usually mix it into my ice tea or in my oatmeal in the morning.
How about you? Do you use it, and if so how do you consume it?

I’ve started using Udo’s Oil for healthy fatty acids. I’ve recently started ending the day with a whey protien shake to help recovery, and it’s easy to throw a tablespoon in without getting the taste. Can’t speak too much yet for it’s benefits, and how much is just a placebo effect, but I figure it’s not going to hurt me.
Good to know John. I drink Ultragen immediately after any run and I take Recovery from SportsQuest when I get up and right before I go to bed. I also take a multi-vitamin, Fish Oil pill and a zinc pill every day.
My experience with chia has been a positive one. I’ve added it to my diet over the last 6 months, and started carrying the hydrated version (as iskiate = chia + sugar + lime juice) in a gel flask on long runs of 25-30 miles. All of my long runs have gone exceptionally well, and my running, in general, has been much improved over the last couple of years. So, just as an experiment of one, YMMV etc, but it seems like adding chia is the only change in my routine. The big test will come on 6/26 at the Old Gabe 50K. I’m looking for an improvement over the 9:52 last year.
